Suppliers of Modular Buildings

There are a number of modular building manufacturers and dealers nationwide that will lease or sell you their product.

Most all of the modular buildings being leased or sold today are typically brokered by a dealer. The dealer does not actually  build the structure. Dealers will normally either lease a building to a consumer that they have in their inventory or utilize a modular builder for any new construction.

A number of modular building manufacturers are also known as integrated dealer manufacturers. They will bypass the dealer and sell directly to the consumer. Although this industry has traditionally used a dealer-based business scheme a number of manufacturers have found that they can better handle their revenues using a direct approach.

In the consumer’s mind it is sometimes difficult to determine if a modular building company is either a “manufacturer” or a “dealer”. A number of dealers do not readily provide this information to the public because many customers state that they are more comfortable working directly with the manufacturer.

As long as the dealer is working with a reliable manufacturer, and that they can manage your modular building project effectively, then this option should be considered strongly by the consumer.

Dealers and manufacturers will both put forth effective arguments as to why the consumer should utilize their services. A dealer will argue that they have a strong relationship with the manufacturer that can result in securing the best price and the best product. They will also state that if a problem should occur that they can handle it better than a single consumer as they, as the dealer, purchase more buildings and thus have more “clout“ with the manufacturer. Manufacturers state that working directly with them will result in better communication as the middleman has been removed. They will also state that working direct will lower your price.

The final decision for the consumer about who to use as a modular building supplier usually boils down to the question of adequate service balanced against securing the best price. That company that best exemplifies those characteristics to the consumer, whether dealer or manufacturer, should be the best fit for any project.
